Case study library

The SIAMS case study library serves a dual purpose. By offering examples of effective and innovative practice, it celebrates and highlights the impact of school practice in the areas evaluated during a SIAMS inspection. Alongside this, it provides a resource to guide and motivate schools looking to develop their own practice. In this way, it supports the wider ecosystem of Church school development.

The case study library is embedded within the routine cycle of SIAMS inspection, which seeks to answer six or seven inspection questions.

Who is this for?

The library is intended to be of particular interest to:

  • Leaders and staff of Church of England schools, Methodist schools, joint Church of England/Methodist and Church of England/Roman Catholic schools

  • Leaders of schools with a non-denominational or inter-denominational Christian foundation

  • Leaders and advisers in dioceses, the Methodist Academies and Schools Trust (MAST), and multi academy trusts, who may also find the content valuable in their work

Case studies

Case studies are indexed by date, with the most recently submitted appearing first, and grouped according to the inspection question areas.

The National SIAMS Team retains editorial oversight of all entries. A school may request the removal of a case study by contacting SIAMS@churchofengland.org . From time to time, entries may be moved to an archive. This may occur when a section of the library reaches a high number of entries.

The two case studes highlighted below are our most recent submissions. A full list of case studies can be found further down this page.
