General Synod Young Voices
General Synod Young Voices creates space for the voices of children and young people to be intentionally heard and responded to within the structures of the Church of England. It recognises young people as active participants in the life and decision‑making of the Church today.
Who it’s for?
Young Voices is for young people and dioceses who want to strengthen meaningful participation at a national level. It supports young people to engage with General Synod, and dioceses to develop pathways for representation, listening and shared leadership.
What makes it distinctive?
Young Voices is distinctive because it moves beyond consultation to real participation. Young adults (18-25 year olds) are welcomed as co‑opted members of General Synod with speaking rights, ensuring that the perspectives of children and young people are not only heard, but valued and responded to as part of the Church of England today.
