Curriculum: religious education

All Church schools are expected to follow the Church of England Statement of Entitlement. On this page you will find the Statement of Entitlement, along with resources from the NSE and our partners relating to RE.

RE Statement of Entitlement

The Statement of Entitlement details the expectations for religious education in Church of England schools. It is designed to help stakeholders place RE at the heart of a flourishing school.

A new Statement of Entitlement for RE has been published in January 2026, which will be referred to for SIAMS inspection purposes from September 2026. Until that time, the 2019 Statement of Entitlement remains in place.
